College Library

The college has a well stocked and fully computerized library which provides adequate seating arrangements for readers. Apart from textbooks the library has a collection of books on religion and philosophy, encyclopaedias and books meant for competitive exams .There is a separate reading room for the members of the staff. The library provides book bank facility to needy and deserving students. Special efforts are made to inculcate good reading habits among the students. The college library aims at meeting the demands of the students by promoting intellectual growth by providing quality reader services.

Library Rules
  • Students can enter the library only on production of their identity cards.
  • Students must observe complete silence in the library.
  • All belongings must be kept with the library attendant at the gate.
  • Reference books, text books, periodicals, magazines and newspapers are not to be issued.
  • A student can get two books issued for a period of 7 days.
  • A fine of Rs. 2/- per day will be charged after the due date.
  • In case of loss/ damage a student shall be liable to pay the cost of the damaged/lost book.
  • The librarian may recall a book any time.
  • The library will be closed once in a year for stock checking. All borrowed books must be return at the time of stock checking.

Rules for payment of college dues
  • Students will have to deposit the admission fee and fee mentioned in the prospectus at the time of admission. No part-payment shall be accepted. (However, the principal may at her discretion extend the date for payment of dues for a specific time in exceptional circumstances only).
  • Fee once paid shall not be refunded.
  • Payment will be realised in cash only.
  • Dates for the payments of college dues are fixed and notified from time to time.
  • A fine of Rs.2/- per days will be charged for the late payment of dues.
  • The name of defaulter (on account of non-payment of dues) will be struck off Re-admission may be allowed by the principal on payment of Re-admission fee of Rs.200/-.
  • A fine Rs. 50/- per day will be charged from students for being absent and irregular, without information and permission

Leave Rules

  • Leave form is available in the library.
  • A student should apply for leave only when it is extremely urgent.
  • A leave form must be signed by parents /guardian or the tutor.
  • Leave exceeding four days will be granted by the principal only.
  • Application for sick leave must be accompanied by a medical certificate from competent authority.

Parking Rules

  • Students must get their vehicles registered with the gate attendant, deposit the parking fee with the fee clerk and get a token.
  • All vehicles must be locked and parked properly.
  • The college takes no responsibility for the loss of any vehicle parked outside the campus.

Examination Rules

Monthly Tests

Monthly tests in the respective subjects are conducted regularly in order to ensure a continuous assessment of the students. Students must not absent themselves from these tests.
Note:- Extra assignment will be taken in the subject concerned from the absentees.


House Examination (Subjects to university Rules)

  • The house test will be based on the university pattern.
  • Absence meant a nil result, leading to a fine of Rs.100/- per subject.
  • Special tests will be conducted for absentees or failed student.

University Examination Rules

A student is eligible to appear in the semester examination conducted by the Punjab University if:

  • She has remained on the rolls of the college for the academic year preceding the examination.
  • She has attendant not less than 80% of the total number of lectures delivered and 90% in teacher’s internship programme.
  • She has secured at least 40% marks (in aggregate) in all the subjects during the house exams.

Internal Assessment

The internal assessment is carried out in a systematic manner for theory, practical andinternship programme. Institution Academic Calendar is planned and implemented as per guidelines outlined by Panjab University in their released Academic Calendar of that particular session and syllabus. Based on it, Annual Institutional Plan of Action for internal evaluation is framed by IQAC co-ordinators. Principal holds meetings with Examination Department and IQAC and directs them to ensure effective implementation of internal evaluation process. Continuous internal evaluation is done in two parts namely (i) Theory Internal Assessment and (ii) Practical Internal Assessment. Various methods are used by faculty members for Internal Evaluation, a few of them are:

  1. House Tests.
  2. Participation in co-curricular activities is one of the components followed in internal evaluation.
  3. Attendance is updated regularly by faculty members on student attendance registers, which is given due importance during assessment.
  4. Internal assessment is also made through Class tests/ Assignments/ Presentations/ Sessional Work and Behaviour.
  5. Practical internal assessment is also done by following above mentioned criteria in practical components: EPC-1.1, EPC- 1.2, EPC-1.3, EPC-1.4, EPC-2.1, EPC- 2.2,EPC-2.4, EPC-3.1, EPC-4.1 and EPC-4.2.
